CHITTAGONG: A worker was killed after a shipping container fell on him at jetty no. 13 of the Chittagong Port early Friday.

The deceased was identified as Samir Nath, son of Kemosh Nath of Hashimpur village under Chandanaish Upazila.

A rolling container fell on Samir, helper of a lorry driver, about 2:00am while he was collecting seal number of the vehicle for offloading goods to ship, said Sourov, worker of Everest Enterprise, a Berth Operating company, who witnessed the accident. 

He was rushed to DMCH where on-duty doctor declared him to death.

Chittagong Medical College Hospital (DMCH) police camp Constable Jahangir Alam confirmed the matter to banglanews.
