DHAKA: The government announced general holiday for June 17 in Chittagong City Corporation area to facilitate voting by the Chittagonians in a vacationing mood.

“All government, semi-government, autonomous and non-government offices, organizations and agencies as well as the government and non-government educational institutions in City Corporation area will be closed for election on the day,” an official announcement said Thursday.  

The areas under the Cantonment Board won’t come under the holiday.
