MADARIPUR: A youth was killed as robbers fired gun shoots and chopped him in Bhadrason area under Shibchar upazila early Thursday.

The deceased was identified as Jahangir Bepari, 35, son of one Aziz Bepari in the area.

Locals and police said, a group of 30/40 robbers stormed into Saha house in the area. Hearing screaming of the residents of the house, neighbor Jahangir rushed there and caught a robber.

Later other robbers chopped him mercilessly and later fired gun shoots to ensure his death.

Confirming the matter to banglanews, Officer-in-Charge of Shibchar Thana A Sattar said police had detained one suspected robber and drive was underway to nab others.
