Four bodies recovered in city

DHAKA: Police recovered four bodies in Airport, Badda and Mirpur areas of the city on Thursday.

In Airport area, a woman worker, Shahnaz, 35, was crushed by a bricks breaking machine as it fell over her in the area around 11:30am.

Airport Thana SI Mehedi Hasan Confirmed the matter to banglanews.

In another incident of the area, police recovered decomposed body of an unidentified youth from a lake adjacent to the runway of Old Airport in the city.

Kafrul Thana police on Thursday morning recovered the body, aged approximately 28, and sent to Dhaka Medical College and Hospital morgue for autopsy.

Kafrul Thana sub-inspector (SI) Krishna Biswas told banglanews that the youth were wearing a three-quarter jeans pant and 3 T-shirts.

In Badda, the law enforcers recovered a hanging body of a housewife from a house in Anandanagar in the area.

The deceased was identified as Shirin Akhter, 25, wife of M Selim Miah of Belabo Thana in Narsingdi district.

Quoting family sources, Badda Thana SI Jayanta Kumar Mondol confirmed the matter to banglanews.

In Mirpur area, Mysterious death of a female readymade garment worker is reported at noon.

The deceased is identified as Laili (18), daughter of Shahad Ali Bhuiyan of Ashtagram Thana of Kishoreganj district.

Laili’s elder sister Mina told banglanews that her sister wanted to go out as she got holiday on the occasion of Independence Day. But she rebuked Laili.

Later, she saw the victim lying unconscious.

Laili was admitted at Suhrawardi Hospital first and then shifted to Dhaka Medical College and Hospital (DMCH) as her condition deteriorated.

DMCH on-duty doctor declared her dead around 1:30pm.

Emergency department doctors asked to conduct postmortem examination as they found injury marks around the deceased’s neck.
