DHAKA: The British High Commissioner to Bangladesh Robert W Gibson said on Tuesday that he was dismayed to learn of the violent murder of Italian national in Bangladesh.

However, a group of assailants killed aid worker Cesare Tavella in city’s Gulshan area on Monday.

‘It was a horrifying and cowardly crime against an aid worker working for the people of Bangladesh, helping the most vulnerable.’

‘I extend my deepest condolences to Mr Tavella’s family and friends’, the envoy added.
