RANGPUR: Japanese national Hoshi Konio, who was shot dead on October 3, will be buried at Munshipara central graveyard in Rangpur city on Friday noon.
After Jumma prayer, his Namaz-e-Janaza will be held at Keramatia Mosque in the city and then he will be laid to rest, Rangpur City Corporation Mayor Sharfuddin Ahmmed Jhantu told banglanews.
The mayor said through an e-mail message, the Japanese Embassy in Bangladesh has contacted Rangpur local administration about the burial of its murdered citizen, Hoshi Kunio.
In the e-mail, Hoshi Konio had converted to Islam on Ramadan 27 at Munshipara Kaderia Mosque. After that, he got a new name Kibria.
Mayor told reporters that as he converted to Islam in the country, he would be buried as per Islami Shariyah after securitization of necessary documents.
On October 3, a Japanese national was shot to death by masked assailants in Rangpur within a week of killing an Italian aid worker in Dhaka.
