DHAKA: Country editor of Dainik Ittefaq Mir Aftab Uddin Ahmed, also a permanent member of Jatiya Press Club, breathed his last at his Moghbazar residence in city on Friday.

He was 74.

The veteran journalist was suffering from chronic diseases.

He will be buried at Azimpur graveyard in city.

Mir Aftab Uddin Ahmed was born in Barisal. After acquiring his BA degree from the BM College, he joined Dainik Ittefaq in 1972.

Jatiya Press Club president Muhammad Shafiqur Rahman and general secretary Quamrul Islam Chowdhury expressed their sorrows over the death and consoled the grieved family.
