DHAKA: International Crimes Tribunal (ICT) prosecutor Barrister Turin Afroz said Amnesty International (AI) has turned into a new anti-liberation force and neo-razakar as well.
AI is using the language that had earlier been used by anti-liberation elements Razakars, Al Badrs and Al Shams during the nation’s war of independence.
The organization is also showing its arrogance demanding trial of freedom fighters.
Afroz made these assertions while addressing a roundtable titled ‘Execution of Verdict Against War Criminals and Security’, at city’s Spectra Convention Center on Saturday.
Regional Anti-Terrorist Institute organized the roundtable.
Earlier, AI raised questions about the transparency of the process of the trial of war crimes suspects that has created widespread criticism in the country.
‘But how transparent are they? They even do not mention the name of donors in their website. What are the sources of money in running the organization?, the barrister asked the authorities of AI.
The roundtable was also attended by Regional Anti-Terrorist Institute executive director Major General Mohammad Ali Sikder, Sammilito Sangskritik Jote president Golam Quddus and Ghatak Dalal Nirmul Committee acting president Shahriar Kabir.
