DHAKA: Amnesty International (AI) has been sold to dollars, commented Dhaka University (DU) history department teacher Mesbah Kamal.

‘AI is doing business with the spirit of humanity. Government should take steps against the organization,’ he added.

Professor Mesbah Kamal made this assertion at a roundtable on execution of verdict against convicted war criminals held at Spectra Centre in city on Saturday.

Moreover, the activities of country’s International Crimes Tribunal (ICT) should be expanded to try war criminals in grass-root level, he added.

Criticizing the government, Kamal further said that they are not engaging lobby abroad to uphold the activities of the war criminals during the country’s war of independence.

He also criticized the government for not banning Jamaat-e-Islami in the country.
