DHAKA: A team of Customs Preventive detained a youth with a large amount of Indian rupees at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in city on Sunday morning.

Jahangir Sarker, 26, hailed from Comilla, arrived at the airport in a flight of Air Emirates from Pakistan around 8:40am.

On suspicion, customs officials searched him and found a large amount of Indian rupees in his luggage, customs preventive team joint commissioner SS Sohel told banglanews.

In primary interrogation, the detainee said that he brought the rupees from Pakistan, the joint commissioner added.
