DHAKA: Measures have been taken to provide additional security to all prisons across the country to avert any untoward incident.

More members of intelligence agencies including Criminal Investigation Department (CID) have been deployed around 68 prisons in the country.

Responsible sources from Dhaka Central Jail said that additional measures have been taken jail compound and its adjacent areas across the country.

Dhaka Central Jail senior jail superintendent Mohammad Jahangir Kabir told banglanews that the overall security has been increased than the previous time.

Earlier, Joydebpur Thana Konabari police camp in-charge Mohammad Mobarak Hossain told banglanews that police patrol has been increased in important areas including Kashimpur Jail.

Members of other law enforcement agencies have also been deployed to ensure security, he added.
