Oishee, 2 others’ verdict Nov 12

DHAKA: A trial court in Dhaka will pronounce its verdict on November 12 in the case against Oishee Rahman and two others for killing the former’s father Special Branch (SB) inspector Mahfuzur Rahman and mother Shapna Rahman.

Dhaka-3 speedy trial tribunal judge Sayeed Ahmed set the date after concluding the placement of arguments in the case on Wednesday.

Oishee and her friend Joni were produced before the court earlier in the day while another friend Roni, who remains in bail, appeared in the court.

Earlier on August 14, 2013, SB inspector Mahfuzur and his wife Shapna were stabbed to death at their rented flat in city’s Chamelibagh area.

Police recovered their bodies on August 16. Their daughter Oishee, 19, with housemaid Sumi, 15, surrendered at Paltan police station on August 17.

Later, Oishee gave a statement under interrogation claiming that she had killed her parents with the help of housemaid Sumi.

Investigators also found the involvement of two of her friends Roni and Joni in the murder case and they were arrested later.

However, finally two charge-sheets were submitted at the court to rectify the case and solve it with the trial after a lot of dramatic dimensions of the murder case.
