DHAKA: Miscreants issued a threat to former Professor of Dhaka University Abul Kashem Fazlul Haque asking him not to fuss over the murder of his only son Foysal Arefin Dipan, owner of Jagriti Prakashani.

Imparting the information, victim’s mother told banglanews ‘someone’ called from an unknown mobile phone number around 11:00am on Wednesday and asked the victim’s parents not to raise hue and cry over the murder.

“‘Otherwise the consequences will be dire,’ the person said,” she added.

She also said they have been feeling insecure since then.

In response to a question, she said they did not inform the matter to police.

On October 31, Jagriti Prakashani owner Foysal Arefin Dipan was hacked to death at his office at Aziz Super Market in city’s Shahbagh area.

He published books of slain secular blogger Avijit Roy.
