DHAKA: The USA will assist Bangladesh government with providing information regarding the recent murders, including of police.

The decision was disclosed after a meeting between two sides at home ministry in city on Thursday.

Earlier in the day, the US ambassador to Bangladesh Marcia Stephens Bloom Bernicat and US south and central Asia region chief deputy-assistant secretary William Todd hold a hour-long meeting with Bangladesh home minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal.

After the meeting the trio talked to the media.

William Todd said the US will assist Bangladesh in providing information in fighting militancy.

‘We have discussed about the matter,’ he added.
