FENI: Detective Branch (DB) of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) detained one from Fulgazi Upazila of the district early Friday for his alleged involvement with the murder of Jagriti Prakashani owner Foysal Arefin Dipon.

The detainee was identified as Mufti Zahid Hasan Maruf, teacher of Tarkucha Darul Ulum Madrasa.

Amjadhat union parishad chairman Ibrahim told banglanews that he had heard the matter.

However, no police officer from Feni confirmed the matter.

Meanwhile, a source from DMP (DB) confirmed the matter to banglanews.

The DB source also said police detained Mufti Zahid from Uttar Tarakucha village of Amjadhat union under Fulgazi Upazila early Thursday to quiz about the murder of Dipon.

On October 31, Jagriti Prakashani owner Foysal Arefin Dipon was hacked to death at his office at Aziz Super Market in city’s Shahbagh area and Suddhaswar owner Ahmedur Rashid Tutul and two writer-researchers were attacked at Lalmatia area.
