DHAKA: As part of the government target to ensure education for all by 2015, the national coordination committee concerned is set to prepare a report reviewing the Education for All (EFA) programme by December.
Earlier, UNESCO requested its member countries to submit a national level report on progress of EFA programme.
In response to the request, the government formed a 51-member committee to make a future plan as per guideline of UNESCO.
Besides, it will take necessary steps to form numbers of taskforce if necessary. One or more members can co-opt to it. It also will complete a report by December.
As per the report, the committee will make a budget and search the source of required fund.
According to UNESCO format and outline, the report will be published by June next year.
Amongst the committee members, some are- two additional secretaries from Primary and Mass Education ministry, a representative from education ministry, women and children affairs ministry, social welfare ministry, religious affairs ministry, Youth and sports ministry, finance ministry, labor and employment ministry, local government ministry, health and family welfare ministry and Chittagong hill-tracks affairs ministry.
Primary and Mass Education ministry joint secretary (development) was made member secretary of the committee.
Regarding the matter, Primary and Mass Education Secretary Kazi Akhtar Hossain told that government is trying to ensure education for all and hopping the committee will work properly to make a success the program.”
