CHITTAGONG: Agitated students blocked Dhaka-Chittagong highway in Sitakundo on Tuesday noon protesting an accident that killed a student.

The deceased was identified as Nurunnabi Rubel, sixth semester student of International Islamic University.

Confirming the matter to banglanews, Officer-in-Charge of Baroaulia Highway Thana Sohel Imtiaz said, “Vehicular movement is being stopped through the area due to the blockade and we are trying to take the situation under control.”  

Witnesses said that Rubel was killed as a rashly driven bus rammed him at 9:30am. Later agitated students of his varsity blocked the highway and vandalized 100 vehicles while torched 2 buses.
