DHAKA: A strong earthquake of magnitude measuring 7.8 struck the Dalbandin area in Balochistan province on Tuesday, said the US Geoplogical Survery.

The tremors were felt as far off as the Indian capital city of New Delhi, news agency Reuters reported.

According to intial television reports, the tremors were felt in different parts of Balochistan as well as Sindh province, including Karachi, Lahore, Jacobabad, Khairpur, and Nowshero Feroz.

So far, no reports were received of any damage to human life or property.
