A Feni court acquitted two people accused in a drug case after 14 years on January 30.

The two accused are - Zafar Hossain and his brother Ali Hossain, who hailed from Dharmapur of Feni Sadar Upazila.

Feni Judge Court Additional District and Sessions Judge Syed Md. Kaiser Musharraf Yusuf passed the verdict.

APP Dijendra Kansa Banik confirmed the matter today (Feb 1) morning.

However, Zafar and his brother Ali were absconding at the time of the verdict, he said.

On October 6, 2008, Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) arrested them along with 30 bottles of Phensydil in a raid from Dharmapur border area, said APP Dijendra.

According to the case statement, after their arrest, BGB constable Abdur Rahim filed a case with Feni Model Police Station against Zafar, and Ali Hossain as Plaintiff. 

Later, the investigating officer SI Kabir Hossain submitted a charge sheet in the court accusing the two brothers on December 31, 2008.
