Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) arrested a man and seized 10 pieces of gold bars in Maheshpur upazila of Jhenaidah on Thursday (Feb 23).

The detainee was identified as Abdul Hadi, 36, son of Shamsur Rahman of Salkon village in Sharsha upazila of Jeshore.

BGB 58 camp commander Lieutenant Colonel Masud Parvez Rana confirmed the matter.

He said acting on a tip-off, a team of BGB conducted a drive along Jadobpur border area in the afternoon and detained Abdul Hadi.

He will be handed over to Maheshpur police station at night after the initial interrogation, the official added
