Two people were killed in a road accident in the Hotapara area of Gazipur Sadar on Friday morning (March 28) on the Dhaka-Mymensingh highway.

The deceased have been identified as Raju, 35 and Ziaul, 36, both residents of Mawa Chowrasta. Further details about them are yet to be confirmed.

According to the police, a pickup van was moving towards Mawa Chowrasta when it collided with another vehicle in the Hotapara area. As a result, Raju and Ziaul, were seriously injured. They were rescued and taken to the Shreepur Upazila Health Complex, where doctors declared them dead.

Salna Highway Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Saleh Ahmed confirmed the matter.

He said Police have retrieved the bodies and legal actions are underway.
