DHAKA: Security has been beefed up in the city to avert any untoward situation following the Wednesday’s verdict that upheld death penalty for condemned war criminals BNP leader Salauddin Quader Chowdhury and Jamaat leader Ali Ahsan Mujahid.
 
Dhaka Metropolitan Detective and criminology department joint commissioner Monirul Islam informed the matter while talking to reporters on Wednesday noon.

He said social media like facebook, whatsapp, messenger and viber have been shut down as if anybody canmot conduct acts of sabotage through using the media.

Additional police forces have been deployed in each area of the city to ensure security of public property and people, he added.
