DHAKA: Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) personnel have been deployed in the capital to keep law and order situation under control.
The paramilitary will patrol city roads from 6:00pm Wednesday to 6:00am Thursday.
BGB public relations (PR) official Mohsin Reza informed the media on Wednesday.
Earlier in the day, Jamaat-e-Islami announced a daylong hartal across the country for Thursday as a protest of Supreme Court’s final verdict of upholding the International Crimes Tribunal (ICT)’s death sentence in a review appeal of Jamaat secretary general Ali Ahsan Mujahid in a case of crimes against humanity during the country’s war of independence in 1971.
