NOAKHALI: Miscreants shot dead a Bangladeshi businessman in Cape Town of South Africa on Tuesday night (local time).

The deceased was identified as Khalilur Rahman, 45, hailed from Paschim Maizdi of Noakhali Sadar Upazila.

Victim’s relative Mahiuddin Chowdhury Liton told banglanews that Khalil went to South Africa eight years ago. He had a departmental store there.

“Miscreants shot him on that night as he did not pay them money,” he added.

Victim’s friend Jony informed the matter to the family on Wednesday.

Kadir union parishad chairman Abdul Mannan confirmed the matter to banglanews.
