GAZIPUR: At least two people were killed and five injured as a passenger bus hits a roadside makeshift restaurant on Dhaka-Tangail highway in Kaliakoir upazila of Gazipur district.

Salna Konabari Highway Thana officer-in-charge (OC) Mohammad Daud said the accident took place around 12:00pm.

He said that the driver of an Azmeri Paribahan bus lose his control over steering and hit a human hauler and a roadside makeshift restaurant leaving a human hauler passenger dead on the spot.

According to the OC, a restaurant employee succumbed to his injuries at a hospital.

But identities of the deceased could not be known immediately, he added.
