42 fishermen abducted at bay

PATHARGHATA (BARGUNA): A group of miscreants abducted at least 42 fishermen with 22 trawlers in the Bay of Bengal about 50-km off Patharghata of Barguna district.

Barguna district fishermen association president Golam Mustafa informed banglanews on Thursday.

According to him, the abduction started on Wednesday morning and continued till Thursday morning.

He further said that they have informed elite force Rapid Action Battalion (RAB), Coast Guard and Navy.

Coast Guard personnel in Patharghata station stormed to the spot at the night after getting the information, Mustafa added.

Coast Guard Patharghata Station commander Lieutenant Syed Abdur Rouf told banglanews said Coast Guard personnel are staying at bay.
