DHAKA: Verdicts of the review appeal have been read out to the death row war crimes convicts BNP leader Salahuddin Quader Chowdhury and Jamaat secretary general Ali Ahsan Mohammad Mujahid on Thursday night.

Earlier around 8:45pm, the verdicts reached the central jail in city.

After receiving the verdict copies by jail super Jahangir Kabir, those were read out to the convicts, said jail sources.

As reply to the question whether they will seek pardon to the President, the convicts said that they need to talk to their respective lawyers.

But the court authorities informed them that they will not be allowed to meet the lawyers in this stage of the verdict execution.

Then, they asked the authorities concerned to allow them to meet their respective family members, the sources added.
