GAPALGANJ: A woman and her seven-year-old daughter were run over by a speedy bus in Tungipara of Gapalganj on Saturday.

Identity of the deceased could not be known immediately.

Local sources said a bus of Seba Green Line ran over the woman and her daughter around 11:30am while crossing Gopalganj-Tungipara road, leaving them injured critically.

They were sent to Gopalganj health complex where duty-doctor declared them dead on arrival.

Tungipara Thana officer-in-charge (OC) Mahmudul Haque told banglanews that the bus was seized but its driver managed to flee the spot.

Angry locals blocked the Gopalganj-Tungipara road following the tragic accident. Later, they removed the blockade after half-an-hour as police assured them trial of the involved people.
