DHAKA: Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina categorically said that her government will take all necessary steps for the modernization of the country’s armed forces.

The PM made this assertion at a reception program on the occasion of Armed Forces Day at Senakunja in city on Saturday.

Upholding her government’s several development programs, Sheikh Hasina said that the ruling Awami League (AL) has increased the per capita income of people and also decreased country’s poverty level.

Moreover, about 90 percent of country’s annual budget comes from domestic sources, she added.

The PM said, ‘Our government has also taken several programs to expand and modernize Bangladesh armed forces so that they can play their role in securing as well as building the nation’.
