DHAKA: A cleaner of Dhaka City Corporation was injured in a cocktail blast at pile of garbage in city’s Agargaon area on Tuesday morning.

The victim was identified as Monju, DCC cleaner.

Witnesses said an abandoned cocktail was blasted while Monju was picking up rubbish adjacent to IDB Bhaban of the area at around 10:00 am.

The blast blew off two fingers of his right hand, they added.

He was rushed to National Institute of Traumatology Orthopedics and Rehabilitation (NITOR) known as Pangu Hospital.

Sher-E-Bangla Nagar police station Officer-in-Charge Abdul Momen confirmed the matter to banglanews.
