Ansarullah Bangla Team chief remanded

DHAKA: A Dhaka Court placed Mufti Jasim Uddin Rahmani, chief of Ansarullah Bangla Team, on seven-day remand for police interrogation in blogger Rajib killing case.

Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Harun-or-Rashid passed the order on Tuesday when DB police produced him before the court with a 10-day remand plea.

He was taken to Dhaka court from Barguna to produce him in the remand hearing.

Earlier on August 25, the court placed nine members of the militant group on a five-day remand in a case under anti-terrorism act. Their remand is going on.

On August 12, some 31 members of Ansarullah Bangla Team including its chief Jasim Uddi Rahmani were arrested from Barguna district.
