KHULNA: A Khulna court on Tuesday awarded life term imprisonment to 13 people for abduction and killing a businessman Abdur Rahman from Shovna village at Dumuria upazila under the district.

Additional Judge Mujibur Rhaman of Khulna district court passed the verdict.

The court also fined each of the convicts to pay Tk 10,00, in defaults, six more months in jail.

Additional public prosecutor (APP) Advocate Nabu Kumar Chakrabarty told banglanews that, according to the case statement, the convicts kidnapped Abdur Rahman and killed on April 18, 2013.

A case was filed with Dumuria Thana in this connection against 13 people along with extremist leader Debu.
