LALMONIRHAT: Two female minors drowned in Dahagram area under Patgram upazila of the district on Thursday noon.

The deceased were identified as Marufa Akhter Sharmin, 6, daughter of Sejab Uddin and Sumaiya Akhter, 4, daughter of Habibur Rahman, hailed from Kalardanga village of Dahagram union of the upazila.

Dahagram UP Chairman Habibur Rahman told banglanews that they fell into a nearby pond of their residence while they were playing. Later, relatives found the floating bodies.

With request from the people’s representatives and local personalities administration permitted the families to bury them without post mortem, he added.
