TANGAIL: A person was killed in a collision between an express train and a pickup van in Mirzapur Upazila of the district on Saturday morning.

The identity of the deceased was Alamgir Hossain, 50, son of Abdur Rashid in Barpakhia village under Delduar Upazila.

Gharinda Station master Jalal Uddin told banglanews that a Dhaka-bound Ekata Express train crashed into a Tiles-loaded pickup while it was Dokhlahati level crossing adjacent to Dhalla-Chhawali road at around 10:00am, leaving the pickup driver dead on the spot.
