Bashundhara Group has distributed food aid to the flood marooned people in the hard-to reach areas of Daulatpur upazila under Manikganj in association with Community Police Forum.
Manikganj Superintendent of Police Rifat Rahman Shamim distributed the relief among 500 flood-affected families in Baser Molla area of Charkataree Union on Wednesday.
Among others, Additional SPs Hafizur Rahman, Raihan Hossain and Tania Sultana, Daulatpur police station’s officer in-charge Rezaul Karim, Shibaloy Police Station’s officer in-charge Firoz Kabir were present on the occasion.
Till date, a total of 500 families in the union received relief from Bashundhara Group. Food aid package includes – 5 kilogram rice, 5 kg wheat and 1 kg lentil.
Appreciating the humanitarian moves from Bashundhara Group, Manikganj SP Rifat Rahman Shamim said the company has shown empathy by standing beside flood marooned people.
He also assured that Community Police Forum will continue support to any social activities of Bashundhara Group in future.
Bashundhara Group Chairman’s Chief Advisor Mahbub Morshed Hasan said the business conglomerate will continue providing aid until the flood situation improves.
“Bashundhara Group aims to work for the country and the people. In any calamities, the company stands by the affected people, which are the ultimate reflections of pro-people thinking of Bashundhara Group Chairman Ahmed Akbar Sobhan,” he added.
According to the official, over 6,500 families across Manikganj district received food aid of Bashundhara Group through administration and public representatives amid flood and pandemic situation.
Earlier, Bashundhara Group donated Tk 100 million to the relief fund of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and constructed country’s largest makeshift isolation centre for corona virus infected patient at ICCB in the capital.
