Bashundhara Group gifts 100 oxygen cylinders to Narsingdi district hospital

Bashundhara Group, a leading business conglomerate of the country, has given 100 oxygen cylinders to Narsingdi district hospital as a gift to facilitate treatment of Covid-19 patients.

Bashundhara Group, which is engaged in distributing relief among poor and destitute people across the country, has now come up with oxygen for critical corona patients.

Deputy Commissioner Abu Nayeem Mohammed Maruf Khan received the 100 cylinders, weighing 10kg each, from Bashundhara Group at his conference room on Saturday.

Bashundhara Group Executive Director (Land) Nazmul Alam Bhuiyan, East West Property Development Pvt Ltd Executive Director (Estate) and Chief Coordinator (Sales and Development) Mahbubur Rahman Tuhin and General Manager and town planner of the Group Mohammad Mamunur Rashid handed over the cylinders in a simple ceremony.

Civil Surgeon Dr Md Nurul Islam, ADC (General) Musfiqur Rahman, 100-bed Covid Dedicated Hospital chief Dr Shitol Chowdhury and Sadar UNO Mehedi Morshed were also present.

It may be mentioned that the government authorities have dedicated 100-bed Narsingdi District Hospital for treatment of Covid-19 patients.

Speaking on the occasion, Mahbubur Rahman Tuhin said, “Bashundhara Group has been assisting the government in tackling Covid-19 and mitigating its impacts from the very beginning.  Earlier, the largest business conglomerate established a 2,000-bed corona hospital at International Convention City Bashundhara.  The Group is distributing relief items among poor people in the country. The relief programme will continue. Now, Bashundhara Group has adopted another scheme of distributing oxygen cylinders for treatment of corona patients.”

Expressing gratitude to Bashundhara Group, Civil Surgeon Dr Md Nurul Islam said, “Covid-19 infection has taken a serious turn in the district in the last two weeks. The patients badly need oxygen cylinders. Bashundhara Group’s cylinders will be of great help to the critical patients.”

Speaking as the chief guest, Deputy Commissioner Abu Nayeem Mohammed Maruf Khan said the corona situation has deteriorated in Narsingdi with an increase in the infection rate.

“Covid-19 patients need oxygen cylinders. We are suffering from dearth of oxygen in the district. The more we can arrange oxygen cylinders the more lives will be saved. We laud Bashundhara Group for standing by us with the lifesaving oxygen cylinders.”
