At least seven people were killed after an ambulance caught on fire following an accident in Bhanga upazila of Faridpur Saturday (June 24) morning.

The accident took place at around 11am in the district's Maligram area. 

The deceased could not be identified immediately, Banglanews correspondent reports.

Bhanga Police Station OC Ziarul Islam said at about 11:45am, a fire broke out in the ambulance after it hit a flyover railing, leaving seven people dead on the spot.

On information, police and fire service men rushed to the spot, Tayumul Islam, officer-in-charge of Bhanga Highway Police, said.
