A man was killed, and four others including women and children were critically wounded in a head-on collision between a passenger bus and a CNG-run auto-rickshaw in Narsingdi.

The incident happened in Bhatpara area of Panchdona Union on Narsingdi-Ghorashal regional road on Thursday (Nov 17) morning.

The deceased was identified as Amir Hamza, 36, son of Shukur Ali of Sinharagi area of Delduar police station of Tangail district.

The injured were identified as Jharna, Tanushree, Taapsee of Tongi area of Gazipur, and Kajla Das of Tangail.

According to locals, a Sylhet-bound passenger bus coming from the opposite direction collided head-on with the CNG. Later, passenger Amir Hamza of CNG was killed on the spot. 

However, the injured were rushed to Narsingdi Sadar Hospital and then to Dhaka Medical, added locals

Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Madhavadi Police Station Rakibuzzaman confirmed the matter.

He said that the body was recovered from the spot after receiving information.
