Tentulia upazila in Panchagarh district experienced the season's lowest temperature today (Jan 14).
The lowest temperature 6.1-degree Celsius was recorded in the upazila at 9:00am on Saturday, said Tentulia Meteorological Centre official Rokonuzzaman.
This is the season's lowest temperature today, he said, adding the temperature has been fluctuating in Tetuliya now.
The chilly weather is disrupting normal life in Tentulia as a moderate cold wave is sweeping over the area. Many people were seen lighting fires with straws and tree leaves to get a respite from the cold, reports Banglanews correspondent.
Tentulia, the last border town in Bangladesh’s north, experiences extreme cold weather in winter. On 8 January last year, mercury fell to 2.6 Degree Celcius in Tentulia, the lowest-ever recorded temperature in Bangladesh’s history.
