Two people of a family were killed and six others injured after a bus collided with a battery run autorikshaw in Gopalganj’s Kashiani upazila.

The accident happened around noon near Fukra bus stand. 

The deceased were identified as Din Islam Khan, 21, of Korpara village in Gopalganj Sadar upazila, and his 8-year old nephew, Husain Farazi, son of Masud Farazi from Mukampur village in Khulna’s Terokhada upazila. Husain had been staying with his uncle's family in Korpara and was a second grader at Madhya Korpara Government Primary School.

Kashiani Highway Police Officer-in-Charge Md. Abul Hossain Mazumder said the Dhaka-bound Rajib Paribahan bus from Pirojpur collided with the battery-operated rickshaw as it entered the highway from a side road.

The injured were taken to Gopalganj 250-bed General Hospital, where doctors declared Din Islam and Husain dead. The six injured passengers are receiving treatment, said the official.
