DHAKA: Cabinet has approved the draft of the local government election law (Pourashava) featuring the poll candidacy under party banner.

The cabinet meeting, chaired by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, made the approval on Monday.

Cabinet secretary Mohammad Shafiul Alam told the media that the cabinet has given its final nod to the local government (Pourashava) amendment law-2015 with the provision of participation of political parties and independent candidacy.
