DHAKA: A group of miscreants hacked a Military Police man at Kachukhet intersection check-post area under Kafrul Police Station in city Tuesday morning.

The injured was identified as Samidul, 28, a Lance Corporal.

A witness said miscreants attacked Samidul and chopped on his head and right hand while he was talking to a rickshaw-puller.

Later, three more Military Police personnel and local people chased one of the miscreants and caught him along with a sharp-edged weapon.

Confirming the matter, DMP Pallabi Zone assistant commissioner (AC) Zakir Hossain told banglanews that the incident took place around 10:00am.

The injured was taken to Combined Military Hospital (CMH) of Dhaka.

Police could not know the reason behind the attack, he added.
