TANGAIL: At least four people were killed and 12 others injured in a head-on collision between a passenger bus and a human-hauler on Dhaka-Tangail highway in Mirzapur upazila of Tangail district on Wednesday noon.

The deceased were identified as Dilip (48), driver of the human hauler; Sajal, (22), son of Mizanur Rahman, Shimul (22) and Haradhan Sarker (32), son of Paresh Sarker of the upazila.

Mirzapur Thana officer-in-charge (OC) M Moin Uddin told banglanews that a North Bengal-bound bus hit the human-hauler in Charpara area of upazila sadar around 1:15pm, leaving the four people dead on the spot and others injured.

The injured were sent to Mirzapur Kumudini Hospital, the OC added.
