BSF guns down Bangladeshi

LALMONIRHAT: A Bangladesh national was gunned down by Indian Border Security Force (BSF) in north Gotamari border under Hatibandha upazila of the district on Friday morning.
 
The deceased was identified as Amulya Kumar Chandra, 38, son of Mohesh Chandra of Butiamangal village of the aforesaid upazila.
 
Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) and locals said Amulya went to near the main border pillar no. 901 around 6:00am to bring cattle. During the time, patrol team of BSF boro Maricha Camp fired at him middle point of pillar no. 901 and sub pillar 5/6.

Bullet-wounded Amulya backtracked to Bangladesh territory and died here. 

On information, police rushed to the spot and sent the body to Lalmonirhat Sadar Hospital for autopsy.

Hatibandha Thana officer-in-charge (OC) Abdul Motin Pradhan confirmed the matter to banglanews.

Lalmonirhat BGB-15 battalion commander Lt Colonel Ahmed Bajlur Rahman Hayati told banglanews that letter has been sent to BSF protesting the killing and asked to hold a flag meeting.
