Two Sramik League activists shot dead in Bogra

BOGRA: Unidentified assailants shot and hacked two Sramik League leaders to death in Naruli area of Sadar upazila early Saturday.

The deceased were identified as Satgram Bandar Sramik League president Hasanuzzaman Nasim, 35, and member Israfil Hossain Ranju, 38.

Confirming their identities District Motor Sramik Union general secretary Shamsuddin Sheikh Helal informed both hailed from Naruli area.
 
Quoting local people, Sadar Thana OC AKM Khalequzzaman said Nasim and Ranju came under attack at about 2am while gossiping with their friends near Naruli School.

“The assailants chopped and shot them, leaving them dead on the spot", said an eyewitness account of the killings.

Acting on information, police rushed in and recovered the bodies. Motives behind the murders could not be known immediately.

Family members of the deceased blamed Shuvo, Suman, Pushtin and Sabuj in the same area for the murders.
