At least two people were injured in a collision between 'Mitali Express' and Khulna-bound 'Rupsha Express' trains at Chilahati Railway Station in Nilphamari on Wednesday (Jan 18) morning.

The injured were identified as locomotive master of Rupsa Express train Nazmul Haque and Assistant locomotive master of Mithali Express Majedur Rahman.

According to local sources, the Rupsha Express train hit the engine of the Mitali Express at the outer signal. Fire Service men are conducting the rescue operation.

Chilahati Fire Service Leader Nur Alam Siddiqui confirmed the matter to Banglanews.

He said both the engines were damaged in this incident, and no causalities were reported.

Details of the incident will be provided soon after the rescue operation is over, he added.
