A local leader of Sirajganj Awami League was sued for allegedly raping a university girl. 

The alleged victim, who is now pregnant, filed the case with Lalbagh police station in Dhaka on Sunday (Feb 5) against Monayem Hossain James, executive committee member of Awami League Tarash Upazila of Sirajganj. 

James' father Abdul Wahab and brother Zakir Hossain were also accused in the case. 

Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Lalbagh police station MM Murshed confirmed the matter.

The medical report of the victim has been collected, the OC said, adding legal action will be taken after investigation.
